LGBTQ+ World AIDS Day is held on 1st December every year, and has been since 1988. World AIDS Day helps raise awareness across the world and in the community about the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS. It is a day for people to show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have been lost. To show support for people with HIV on World AIDS Day people wearing red or a red ribbon, the international symbol of HIV awareness and support.
