LGBTQ+ Pride Month is marked globally in the month of June. June marks the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. These riots were a series of revolutionary demonstrations to revolt against the oppression of the LGBTQIA+ community. A month we pay tribute to those who protested for gay liberation rights in 1969. This was not globally recognised until 1999 when Bill Clinton was the first US President to officially recognise Pride Month.  June 28 is marked as Pride Day every year.
